Police Search For Murder Suspect After Motel Shooting

DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver searched for a man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting near a motel on East Colfax that left one woman dead.

Police searched for Brandon Foote after Thursday night's shooting in an alley that began at the Sand & Sage Motel.

Police rushed to the motel at 8415 E. Colfax Ave. about 9:10 p.m. Thursday on reports of numerous gunshots being fired. When officers arrived, they found a female victim who appeared to be shot in the 8400 block of E. 16th Avenue.

The woman was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe the initial gunshots began at the motel and carried over to the second location on E. 16th Avenue.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Foote, 29, for investigation of first-degree murder. He is believed to be driving a 2000 GMC Yukon with the Colorado Passenger Plate 725-VQI.

Another person wanted in connection with the homicide, Merita Curry, aka Merita Swanson, 34, turned herself into the Denver Police on Friday.
