National Parks Now Use GPS To Track Humans

DENVER (CBS4) - Scientists in a couple of national parks are no longer tracking just the wildlife. Humans are now being tracked in order to learn how visitors' movements affect the ecosystem.

GPS trackers will be given to volunteers in Rocky Mountain National Park and Yosemite National Park.

Researchers say the data collected will also help them make decisions on park upgrades -- like where to put future trails, parking areas, and restrooms.
