Workers Rally Against 'Poverty Wages'

DENVER (CBS4)- Dozens of janitors and other workers in Denver gathered for a rally on Thursday against what they call "poverty wages."

The demonstrators gathered to demand $15 an hour as part of the national "Fight for 15" campaign.

The group also included home health care workers, fast food workers, adjunct professors and students.

"We are a year away from negotiating our new contract and it's time to organize ourselves and fight because we have worked very hard and deserve better benefits and pay," said one protester.

Workers in more than 30 other cities nationwide participated in similar protests this week.
