Denver Church To Hold Prayer Vigil Following Shootings

DENVER (AP) - A Denver church is holding a prayer vigil Thursday night in response to the shooting at a South Carolina AME church that left nine people dead.

Pastor Timothy Tyler of the Shorter Community AME Church says church members want to pray for the victims and talk about ways they can be safe.

The vigil will be an informal gathering inside the Shorter AME sanctuary, which is one of the largest AME churches in Colorado with hundreds of members. The church is located on 3100 Richard Allen Court. The prayer is from 9 p.m. to midnight.
