Microsoft Official To Take Stand In The Theater Shooting Trial

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - The Aurora theater shooting trial picks back up Monday morning and jurors will hear more testimony that prosecutors hope will prove the gunman was mentally sane at the time of the shooting.

The trial resumes with the prosecution not that far from wrapping up its case. The week will include a Microsoft official who is to show emails from the defendant's account.

On Thursday James Holmes' former girlfriend completed her testimony. She said after their breakup Holmes sent her a message that led her and a friend to recommend he see a therapist. The message was about killing people. She didn't think anything was imminent, it was just something philosophical.

The defense claims Holmes was schizophrenic and not sane when the theater shooting occurred.
