DOVER, Del. (CBS4) – Always the bridesmaid, never the bride — it’s starting to feel like the theme for Martin Truex Jr. this year. He’s second in points, but without a win he still hasn’t secured himself a spot in the chase.
Truex and the 78 Furniture Row car started second and once again led more laps than anyone else — 131. He clearly had one of the best cars on the Dover Monster Mile. Truex calls it his favorite track close to his native New Jersey.
The race was decided on a late restart and Truex was in third, but gets stuck behind the 5 car and couldn’t make a move. He end up finishing sixth,
Jimmie Johnson took the checkered flag for his fourth win of the year and his 10th career win at Dover.
Truex got another Top 10 finish but is still winless in 2015.
