It's Farewell To Englewood Fire As Denver Takes Over
DENVER (CBS4) - A goodbye party was held on Thursday for the Englewood Fire Department, which will no longer exist as of Sunday.
On June 1, Englewood will officially become a part of the Denver Fire Department. They're taking over because Englewood can longer afford to fund its own department.
A reception was held in honor of Englewood Fire's traditions and those who have served over the years. All those currently on the force will make the switch to Denver.
Denver Fire takes over all of Englewood's operations at noon Sunday.
