Former CEO Of Summit County Real Estate Group Gets Prison Time For Embezzlement

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (AP/CBS4) - The Summit County district attorney says a woman who pleaded guilty to stealing more than $400,000 from a local real estate agents' association she had led for nearly two decades has been sentenced.

According to District Attorney Bruce Brown's office, Sue Frank, the former chief executive officer of the Summit Association of Realtors, was sentenced on Tuesday to 5 years in prison. She must also make full restitution of the $415,200 she stole.

Frank, 62, was arrested in December and accused of forging checks and making unauthorized transfers into her own account from the nonprofit association formed to support real estate agents with educational and other services.

"Embezzlers beware and take note -- financial fraud does not pay," Brown said in a statement. "When fraud is uncovered, no matter how long it takes, Ms. Frank's 5-year prison sentence is the price thieves should expect to pay for stealing from their employer."
