Advanced Practice Nurses Will Be Able To Prescribe Medication Sooner In Colorado
DENVER (CBS4) - Gov. John Hickenlooper on Monday signed a bill that reduces the amount of time an advanced practice nurse has to be supervised before being allowed to prescribe medication.
The law currently requires 3,600 hours of oversight by either a doctor or another advanced practice nurse.
Starting Sept. 1 the number of supervised hours will be reduced to 1,000.
