BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – A man was shot and killed after trying to break into a home in Boulder on Monday evening.
Police said the intruder smashed through the glass front door to get inside a home on Pima Court. Then someone inside the home opened fire, killing the man.
One neighbor several houses down said he’s shocked as the neighborhood is typically safe.
The next door neighbor said he came outside to see what was going on and saw the front door glass was shattered.
Witnesses say the man had been banging on their doors and windows homes Monday night. Police say the man then banged on a window at the back of the home where a man and a woman were watching television.
Detectives are investigating this incident and say the two people who were in the home are cooperating. It is not known which person fired the shots.
Police say the male resident got his handgun and soon the suspect came around to the front of the house, shattered a glass storm door and burst inside.
