Suspicious Male Who Approached Child Sought By Boulder Police

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Boulder are investigating a suspicious incident which involved a young girl.

Police said the incident occurred at a home in the 600 block of College Avenue sometime between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

A young female child was playing outside her home when an unknown male in a car approached her and said he was the father of a friend of the young girl. The young girl didn't recognize the male and knew he was not her friend's father.

She told police the suspect exited the car and then she ran inside her house to tell her parents who called police.

The suspect sped away in his car. Police are working to identify him.

He is described as a white male, 40-50 years old, medium-length light brown or brownish-blonde hair, wide eyes with wrinkles. He was wearing a short-sleeve button-down checkered shirt, light blue in color with some yellow and white, blue jeans and black boots with grey laces.

The suspect was driving a silver, four-door sedan, possibly Mitsubishi or Volkswagen. There was a dent in the hood on the passenger side and a rear spoiler on the car.
