Boy Stabs Mother, Falls Out 3rd Story Window

MONUMENT, Colo. (CBS4)- A mother was stabbed by her 11-year-old son before he somehow fell out a third-story window.

It happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Friday at a townhome on Burning Bush Point in Monument.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office received what they describe as a "hysterical" call regarding a disturbance between a parent and child. It is unclear who made the call.

When deputies arrived at the residence, they found the mother with several stab wounds. The boy was found sprawled on the ground in front of the home. It's unclear if the boy jumped from the window or fell during a possible struggle.

"It has not been determined exactly what happened. All I can say is that we have an open window here, we have a screen on the ground and we have the child laying on down on the driveway in front of the house when first responders got here," said El Paso County Sgt. Robert Stone.

The woman and her son were rushed to separate hospitals and then later transported to Denver metro area hospitals.

Deputies continue to investigate what happened.
