Denver's Biggest Baby Shower Benefits Those Born Without

DENVER (CBS4)- People living in the Denver metro area will have the opportunity to donate newborn items to those babies who have been born in need.

Denver Health Medical Center will host a one day, city-wide donation event on Saturday, May 2.

The donation event is organized by the Denver Health Foundation to give every newborn what they deserve.

The baby shower is from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on May 2 at Denver Health Medical Center located at 301 W. 6th Avenue in Denver.

Each year more than 3,000 babies are born at Denver Health Medical Center where many are born into families facing financial hardship. The Newborns in Need program sends each baby born at Denver Health home with a warm welcome bag filled with necessities like blankets, diapers and baby clothing.

The public is invited to drop off new baby items that include:

  • Disposable diapers (size 1 or 2)
  • Baby wipes
  • Baby wash/shampoo
  • Convertible car seats
  • Blankets
  • Onesies/undershirts/sleepers/sweaters
  • Newborn socks and bibs
  • Nursing supplies (pads, cream, etc.)
  • Baby ear thermometers
  • Baby picture books
  • Infant toys
  • Umbrella strollers
  • Cribs and crib sheets

All items must be NEW and please, no bottles or formula.

Cash donations can be made online or at local area King Soopers locations.
