Elitch Gardens Gets Ready To Open For Season With New Water Slide

DENVER (CBS4)- Elitch Gardens is getting ready to open for the season by celebrating 125 years in Denver.

Elitch's opens on Saturday with more entertainment than ever before. That includes the new water slide "SlideZilla."

Copter4 flew over the water slide on Tuesday morning which is opening this summer in the Island Kingdom Water Park in the middle of Elitch's. The six-story Hydro-Beast is the first of its kind in Colorado which promises to spin riders around, swallow them up and spit them out as they make a huge splash.

Opening weekend will welcome the return of some very special guests - SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer - who will be at the park on both May 2 and 3.
