WB I-70 Reopens After Deadly Crash Near Morrison

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4)- A deadly crash closed three lanes of westbound Interstate 70 near the Morrison exit on Saturday morning. Colorado State Patrol reopened all the lanes several hours later, about noon.

The crash happened near exit 259 in the westbound lanes of I-70 about 7:30 a.m. State troopers investigating the crash said three vehicles were involved. CSP Golden tweeted out an update with a picture that showed debris scattered across the interstate.

Colorado State Trooper Nate Reid said it appears the white sedan was stalled in the middle lane and was struck by an SUV. The SUV rolled and overturned.

One person inside the sedan was killed and two others rushed to the hospital along with the driver of the SUV. A semi was also involved but had minor damage and no injuries to the driver.

The names of the victim and those injured have not been released.

Troopers urge caution when driving through that area. Traffic was getting around the crash and investigation on the shoulder and far right lane until all the lanes reopened about noon Saturday.
