Women Killed In Weld County Crash Were From Parker, Fort Collins

WELD COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - The identities of those involved in a deadly crash on Interstate 25 in Weld County have been released.

Several vehicles were involved in the crash about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes of I-25 near Highway 66 in Weld County. The Colorado State Patrol said two people were killed and at least two others were injured.

Investigators said a 2004 GMC Envoy driven by Nacole Grim, 29, of Frederick, was traveling southbound when the driver apparently lost control and went into oncoming traffic.

The Envoy collided with two vehicles, a Toyota Scion and an Infiniti. The driver of the Scion, Dang Mantkhong, a 34-year-old woman from Parker, died at scene after her car was hit by a semi.

The driver of Infiniti, Diane Kaufman, 58, suffered moderate injuries after her car ended up in the median.

The State Patrol said the Envoy then rolled and collided with a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The driver of the Jeep, Andrea Weiss, 39, from Fort Collins was killed.

Grim suffered serious injuries. The semi driver wasn't injured.

Drugs, alcohol and speed aren't being considered factors in the crash, but it's still not clear what caused Grim to lose control.

There was a miles-long backup in the northbound lanes as traffic was diverted off I-25.

It's not clear if any charges will be filed.
