VA Appoints Interim Director For Denver Veterans Hospital

DENVER (AP) — The Department of Veterans Affairs has appointed an interim director for its Denver-based Eastern Colorado Health Care System.

Carolyn L. Adams replaces Lynette Roff, who retired. Adams' appointment was effective Tuesday.

She previously served as director or interim director of VA hospitals in Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina.

Roff retired in February after allegations that a Denver VA sleep clinic kept a secret waiting list. The VA denied having a secret list but said the clinic at one point kept an "unofficial" one.

About 81,000 veterans get care in the eastern Colorado system. The system has a hospital in Denver and 10 clinics around the state.

It was unclear if Adams would have a role in overseeing construction of a new Denver hospital, which is over-budget and behind schedule.
