DENVER (CBS4) – A federal lawsuit claims the Evans Police Department covered up a murder involving one of their own officers.
Thomas Fallis was an Evans police officer who is accused of killing his wife, Ashley Fallis, in 2012.
Initially investigators ruled Ashley’s death as a suicide. However, the case was re-opened and determined to be homicide.
The family attorney released a statement saying in part, “they feel obligated to seek accountability from officials at the Evans Police Department to prevent law enforcement from administering a dual system of justice when one of their own is alleged to have engaged in serious wrong doing.”
