15 Great Reactions To The News Of Tim Tebow's Meeting With Eagles

DENVER (CBS4) - No, it wasn't a joke. Amid what has been a crazy offseason for the Philadelphia Eagles, this week the team worked out former Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.

Tebow and the Eagles wound up parting ways without any official signing, but admit it, you probably didn't ever expect to hear about Tebow meeting with any NFL team ever again.

During the 2011 Broncos season when Tebow guided Denver to the playoffs there was so much conversation going on about him in the NFL world (and beyond) that all one had to do was spend about five minutes online to find 100 different opinions on him.

While his name was briefly trending this week, there certainly wasn't the same kind of tidal wave of social media commentary that crashed down after every successive Sunday that Tebow started in Denver. Here are the 15 reactions we found online that are worth noting about Tebow's latest attempt at returning to the National Football League:

Philadelphia-area sports blogger "The700Level" tweeted:
There was that one crazy guy on Twitter last week who said the Eagles would work out Tebow this week. Guess he wasn't so crazy after all.

Lew Bowen, Philadelphia area sports reporter, tweeted:
Eagles confirm Tim Tebow is working out today, because this circus apparently needed another ring.

Reaction from Kimberly Curro on the CBSDenver.com Facebook page:
The man is a class act and a true gentleman, I hope he gets another shot in the NFL!

Tweet from Jason La Canfora, NFL Insider for CBSSports.com:
Eagles are confirming the story first broke by People Magazine - Tebow worked out for them today. Now I'm going to put my hand in a blender

Reply tweet from "Raid Er Die":
that should make you about as good of a QB as Tebow...

Another Twitter reply, this one from Mark Urban:
To their credit his huge hands will never fumble the clipboard.

Anonymous comment on CBSDenver.com:
I have to assume that the equipment manager gave Tim a pair of large red shoes and a round red nose to wear during his workout. He is not a quitter, but he is a delusional and very bad quarterback.

Reaction from Betty Prutch on the CBSDenver.com Facebook page:
Just as long as he is not coming back to Denver, I don't really care where he goes.

Anonymous comment on CBSDenver.com:
To say he has no talent is foolish. To say he doesnt fit any team in NFL is also foolish. He and Broncos accomplished something many teams have never accomplished. Unfortunately he played for someone who despised what he stands for. The QB coach he has been working with says he is much better at the pass there is only one way to know if it is enough.

Comment from "mike" on CBSPhilly.com:
Actually Tim Tebow has been working out with Tom House, Tom Brady's QB COACH. He has apparently gotten a lot better ...

Eagles sports writer Jimmy Kempski shared a funny, complicated image on Twitter that outlined where Tebow fits in the Eagles puzzle:

Comment from "Warren" on CBSPhilly.com:
How about Akili Smith, Jamarcus Russell and Vince Young. They played great for their college teams. Chip needs to try them out too.

Reaction from Jim Ridge on the CBSDenver.com Facebook page:
I would take 1 Tebow over the 100 Ray Lewis's, Ray Rice's, and Vick's of the world any day! Just on pure principle! I hope he succeeds!

CBSPhilly Sports Director Beasley Reece on the 94WIP Morning Show in Philadelphia:
If Tebow would play tight-end he would be an amazing tight-end. ... The quarterback has the best hands on every football team. He catches more balls than anybody on the team. I assure you that Tebow has excellent hands, would make a great tight-end, great fullback, and a great emergency third-string quarterback.

Someone even went to the length of Photoshopping a photo of Tebow in an Eagles Jersey:
