5th-Graders Quiz State Legislators At Capitol For 'Liberty Day'
DENVER (CBS4) - About 100 Colorado fifth-graders flooded the state Capitol Monday to celebrate Liberty Day.
The students started the day with a rally on the steps of the Capitol, and then they read the Declaration of Independence on the House floor.
The students even quizzed state legislators on the constitution.
The event was sponsored by the nonprofit Liberty Day Institute. The goal of the group is to celebrate the constitution and civic education.
