Man Gets 72 Years For Attempted Murder, Police Assault
GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 72 years in prison after he was convicted of attempted murder and assaulting police.
The Jefferson County District Attorney's Office says 23-year-old Maksim Khamov was sentenced Tuesday.
He was accused of trying to run over Arvada police officers on Jan. 4, 2014. The officers were investigating a report that someone in Khamov's car had fired a gun at another car after an argument in a bar parking lot.
Officers fired on Khamov's car and then pursued it, but they ended the chase after it reached 100 mph.
