Wounded Vets Take Advantage Of Free Ski Trip To Colorado

LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) - Ten wounded combat veterans from all over the country arrived in Colorado Tuesday for an all-expense paid ski trip.

The vets started their vacation at Sports Authority in Littleton to be outfitted with new winter gear from head to toe.

The trip continues at the National Sports Center for the Disabled in Winter Park where many of the vets will ski for the first time.

"I'm here to overcome my fear and just get out there and give it a shot," Army veteran Michael Cain said. "If I fall, I fall. I'm just going to get right back up anyway."

The Sports Center for the Disabled wants to challenge the veterans to do things they never thought they could do and learn to overcome their disabilities.
