DENVER (CBS4) – Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki is giving a group of children an unforgettable trip of a lifetime.

Tulowitzki is flying 21 young patients from Colorado’s Children’s Hospital to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Arizona for spring training. The children left from Denver International Airport early Friday morning.

The kids will spend some one-one-one time with the players and coaches.

For some of the children, this will be the first time they are away from home without their family.

Jesus Pavon said he’s “really hyped for the trip.”

“I’m really excited,” he told CBS4. “I’ve never been to Arizona to meet the Rockies before, so I’m really excited.”

Tulo personally donated the all-expenses paid trip.

One of the children who has a shaved head was sporting a message in Rockies purple on his head. It said THANK YOU Mr. Tulo! #2.
