DENVER (CBS4) – Denver police would like the public’s help in a fatal hit-and-run investigation.
Denver police were forced to close South Federal Boulevard in both directions between West Hillside Place and West Harvard Avenue early Tuesday morning due to the hit-and-run.
Police are looking for a silver 2007 to 2011 Toyota Camry with damage to the lower right side and front end.
The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
Federal Boulevard has been designated one of the most deadly streets in Denver with dozens of crashes on record. In fact, the exact stretch of Federal where the hit-and-run occurred was chosen by Denver police last year for a sting operation in which officers ticketed more than 90 people, both drivers and jaywalking pedestrians.
Denver police say so far this year 11 people have died in traffic accidents, and two of them have been involved in hit-and-runs. Last year the city recorded nearly 50.
