Firefighter Meets His Rescuers, Fellow Firefighters

DENVER (CBS4) - It was a heartfelt reunion as an Arvada firefighter thanked the firefighters from the North Metro District who helped save his life last fall.

Chuck Crow was driving with his family in October 2014 when he felt a sharp pain in his chest. As a firefighter himself, Crow knew that minutes can mean the difference between life and death in heart attacks, so he called 911.

Firefighters responded and got him to the hospital where Crow went into cardiac arrest. Doctors were able to resuscitate him.

"I'd like to get out to people how important it is that if you feel chest pain coming on that you activate the 911 system... It made a huge difference in my life because of acting early," explained Crow.

He also said that being on the other side of a 911 call has made him more compassionate in the way he does his job.
