DUI Driver Pleads Guilty In Deadly Crash, Victim Remembered
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4)- The drunk driver responsible for a deadly crash in which a 24-year-old woman was killed has pleaded guilty.
Robbin Verser crashed into Ashley Bradberry's car at 60th and Vasquez in November 2014. Bradberry, 24, died almost instantly.
"The hardest thing for me, you know, is at night when I look down at my phone and it's so quiet," said Bradberry's mother Jackie Ketelsen. "She was amazing."
Bradberry was on her way home when Verser, 57, ran a red light and slammed into her car in Commerce City.
"The alcohol level was so high," said Ketelsen. "They can't even understand how she even opened the door, put the key in to start the car."
Verser had a blood alcohol content of .358, four times the legal limit.
Verser pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and DUI on Thursday. She will be sentenced in late April.
Ketelsen said while they are relieved they won't have to sit through a trial, no matter how many years Verser spends behind bars it won't bring her daughter back.
"I don't get to see her get married or have a baby or anything... she's gone," said Ketelsen.
