The Transportation Security Administration says screeners noticed that 64-year-old William Skeith, Jr. was carrying a .380 caliber Ruger through security Monday morning. Police confiscated the gun and issued him a ticket, which will require him to appear in court.

The Gazette reports that Skeith is the third passenger to bring a gun to the airport this year. Last year, six loaded guns were found in the airport.

At Denver International Airport, seven guns have been found so far this year. Last year, 70 were discovered.

TSA spokeswoman Carrie Harmon says most people found with guns at the airport say they forgot they had them.
