BEAVER CREEK, Colo. (CBS4) – Throughout the World Alpine Ski Championships in the Vail Valley in the first half of this month there was some awe inspiring skiing on display.

For example, Colorado native Mikaela Shiffrin became the third woman to win back-to-back slalom titles at the championships and American Ted Ligety roared back from a first-run deficit to win his third straight giant slalom title.
