Dog Thieves Caught On Video Seemed Partial To Pomeranians

DENVER (CBS4) - Surveillance video shows a man taking a puppy from a pet store in Denver on Thursday.

The incident happened at the Aquatic Dog store on Iliff Avenue and Quebec Street. The video shows two men walking in together. One of them distracts the store employee as the second one pretends to be on the phone while playing with puppies. Then that man grabs a Pomeranian and puts it under his jacket.

The store owner believes the thieves targeted that particular dog.

"Some gentleman called on Wednesday, the day before, and my husband just got such a really bad feeling about it that he told me about it," store owner Sheila Vanderveer said. "We talked to a couple other stores and … they've had people, a guy looking for Pomeranians as well."
