DENVER (CBS4) – Denver police are investigating a hit-and-run involving a man in a wheelchair that prompted a Medina Alert.

According to police, the hit-and-run occurred near 38th Avenue and Federal Boulevard just before 3:30 p.m.

Police said on Twitter that the victim was rushed to a local hospital. He’s expected to survive.

Police are searching for the suspect vehicle, described as a dark SUV. Police later found an SUV but it turned out not to be involved.

Southbound Federal had to be closed and northbound was down to one lane at 38th for the investigation.
