Jury Convicts Man Involved In Shootout With Police In Castle Rock
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) - A jury has convicted a 43-year-old man charged in a shootout with police and sheriff's deputies during a standoff in Castle Rock.
The Douglas County District Attorney's Office says Lonnie James Pebley, of Castle Rock, was found guilty of 46 counts stemming from a standoff on July 4, 2012. Prosecutors say he tried to shoot 27 officers and deputies with an AK-47 and handgun during the 30-minute standoff.
Among other charges, Pebley was convicted of 15 counts of attempted first-degree murder and 12 counts of first-degree assault/threatening a peace officer with a weapon.

The Denver Post reports residents of about 2,000 homes in the area were told to stay inside during the standoff. No one was injured.
Pebley faces at least 190 years in prison when he's sentenced May 8.
