Fields, UCLA Women Hang On, Beat Colorado 72-65

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Nirra Fields scored 24 points and UCLA squandered a 17-point lead before beating Colorado for a 72-65 and snapping a four-game losing streak on Friday night.

Monique Billings scored 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting for UCLA (9-13, 5-6 Pac-12). Jordin Canada made just 2 of 12 field goals, but hit 8 of 10 free throws - including four in the final 45 seconds - finishing with 12 points and five assists.

A jumper by Canada gave the Bruins a 52-37 lead with 10:32 left, but Colorado slowly chipped away until a three-point play by Jasmine Sborov gave the Buffaloes a one-point lead with 3:12 left.

Fields scored six during an 8-2 run over the next 2:15 to make it 68-63 with 57 seconds to go before Canada's free throws sealed it.

Jamee Swan led Colorado (10-12, 3-8), which committed four turnovers in the final 1:58, with 17 points and nine rebounds.
