Search Continues For College Student Who Vanished Without A Trace
LEADVILLE, Colo. (CBS4)- The search continues for a college student who vanished without a trace nearly a week ago.
"We just hope he's okay, haven't heard too much about it so I hope he's okay," said Colorado Mountain College student Tom Florio.
Colton Wilson left his dorm at Colorado Mountain College Timberline Campus on Jan. 29. There is video of him leaving in pajama pants and some slipper loafers. He hasn't been seen or heard from since.
Wilson, 19, had just started classes a few weeks before he went missing. He moved to Leadville from Oklahoma.
"There's a good amount of new kids, they're all pretty cool though," said Florio.
According to reports, Wilson had spoken with his father the night before he was last seen. A missing person's case was opened for him over the weekend.
Investigators searched around the dorm but didn't notice any tracks in the snow.
"He had a good amount of friends, he was a good kid from what I know, he had a good group of friends," said Florio.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office said they are following up on leads but don't suspect suicide or criminal activity to be involved.
Wilson's father traveled to Leadville to help search for his son. He has since returned to Oklahoma but a $10,000 reward is being offered in the case.
