People Who Use Emojis Are…

DENVER (CBS4) - Emojis have become an internationally understood language. The little graphics can perfectly convey a feeling that most of us do not have words for. Or they can describe what you're having for dinner, where you're going, what you're doing and if it's sunny out.

Well, the people at Match.com conducted some surveys about our dating habits. It appears there's something called "the Clooney Effect," there's data proving women are the more independent sex (which you knew all along), and that the use of emojis indicates a good amount about someone.

There's no question emojis have influenced the dating world. You don't want to send too many happy faces for fear of appearing unattractively overbearing, but you do want to let him know that you're up for pizza tonight--send an emoji.

People of ages, of all sexual identification, and of all social backgrounds use emojis. They're flat out awesome. When it comes to the dating world, singles use them to show just enough personality. It's easier than crafting a full text, and usually more efficient.

So, are emojis the new aphrodisiac? It turns out that singles who use more emojis are going on more dates. They're also the ones having more sex. But -- emoji users are less educated.

According to SinglesinAmerica.com, the most commonly used emojis by single people are:

Women seem a bit more conservative with their fave emoji: they are more likely to use a smiley face or a lips graphic, whereas men are more likely to use a kiss face or a heart-eyes face.

My burning question, however, is if this applies to Millennials? We're a little different when comes to technology, and especially emojis.

I easily use emojis most amongst my girlfriends -- to say what I want for lunch, how wonderful vacation is, or describe my weekend plans. We comment on Facebook with emojis because most of the time words aren't good enough. It is also well known that you would never post a pic to Insta without an emoji.

Essentially, they're part of life for Millennials. And maybe that's why Emojis have become so pivotal in the dating world.
