Bus Driver In Lakewood Faces Child Abuse Charge
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - A bus driver is facing child abuse charges after an altercation with a 12-year-old student in Lakewood.
David Blanchard, 62, is a substitute driver for the Jefferson County School District.
Witnesses told Lakewood police that on Friday at Bear Creek K-8 School before the bus ride home started Blanchard fought with a boy on his bus who was being disruptive and was howling and yelling.
The student wound up with several scratches and abrasions. He may face a charge of harasment for pushing the driver.
Blanchard was charged with child abuse and was released on a summons to appear in court.
