Jim Benemann's Decision In 1994

Jim made the tough decision to leave CBS4 in 1994 to be the main anchor at KGW in Portland, Oregon. He spent three years in the northwest before moving back to Denver, then six more years at a station across town before coming back to his home here at KCNC. At the time he left, we ended each 4pm newscast with video of viewers giving the "Thumbs Up." That is why the crew - including his co-anchor Kathy Walsh - gave him the thumbs up to send him off. We love that he is back in the newsroom, but where have the last 12 years gone?!
