Denver Releases App For Access To All Kinds Of City Services

DENVER (CBS4) - As Colorado's weather rollercoaster continues into the spring, drivers will be sure to see a lot more pot holes, and now Denver has a new way to report them and access other city services.

On Tuesday Mayor Michael Hancock's office announced the release of the app called pocketgov. It's a tool residents can use to access city services from a mobile device or home computer.

To report a pot hole or graffiti, residents can take a picture and enter an address using the app and submit it.

The app also allows for citizens to sign up for email notifications for recycling and large item and trash pickup schedules, among other services.

"In Denver, our goal is to move at the speed of you," Hancock said in a statement. "Pocketgov puts access to city services right in your pocket, saving you money and time and allowing us to provide the highest quality service at the lowest possible cost."

The city hopes to save more than $250,000 a year by lowering the current call volume.
