Report: Gary Kubiak To Interview For Broncos Head Coaching Job

DENVER (CBS4) - Gary Kubiak will interview for the Denver Broncos head coaching position, reports Jason La Canfora, NFL Insider for CBS and CBSSports.com.

La Canfora says the interview is expected to take place this weekend.

Gary Kubiak is currently the Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator. Last Sunday the Ravens website reported that Kubiak said he wouldn't be entertaining offers for head coaching positions, and Kubiak shared the following prepared statement at the time.

It is flattering and humbling to be invited to interview for a number of NFL head coaching positions, and I greatly appreciate these opportunities. But I have decided to stay with the Ravens.

Baltimoreravens.com reported on Friday morning that Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was set to talk on Thursday morning with Kubiak about this week's request from Broncos general manager John Elway for an interview.

Kubiak was Elway's backup quarterback on the Denver Broncos roster from 1983 to 1991.

Kubiak spent 11 seasons as the offensive coordinator of the Broncos and was then head coach of the Houston Texans for nearly eight seasons before being fired. The Ravens hired him as their offensive coordinator a year ago.
