4 People Hurt As New Year's Eve House Party Turns Violent

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A New Year's Eve party in Aurora turned violent overnight, leaving four people with stab wounds.

"It looked as though there was a party going on and it got out of hand and it was crazy for two hours," said one neighbor.

The party was taking place at a home in the 1300 block of South Dequense Court, near Gun Club Road and Mississippi, when something happened about 2 a.m. that prompted neighbors to call 911.

"It was total mayhem like a scene out of a crazy movie," said another neighbor. "People running in every direction, running, screaming, fighting."

Police received reports of a fight that broke out at a large house party with about 100 to 200 people.

When officers arrived witnesses told them there had been a lot of yelling and screaming.

Police confirmed that four people suffered stab wounds at the party. All are expected to survive.

"To see a trail of blood going from your house to your neighbor's house is a little bit emotional and scary," said neighbor Tiffany Gordon.

Not all the victims cooperated with the police investigation.

Detectives believe the home where the party took place was vacant. There are signs outside the home indicating the property is for sale. It was built in the past year but has never been lived in.

"I think they saw a vacant home and they said, 'Well, that's a good place for a party.' You never want it to happen in your neighborhood but it could happen anywhere," said Gordon.

They continued to gather evidence at the scene. No suspects have been named and no one has been arrested.
