ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – A league-best nine Denver Broncos were selected to the Pro Bowl, the team announced Tuesday.
Quarterback Peyton Manning earned the honor for the 14th time in his career.
Joining him are defensive lineman DeMarcus Ware (his eighth selection), tackle Ryan Clady (fourth), Von Miller (third), Demaryius Thomas (third), safety T.J. Ward, corner Aqib Talib, tight end Julius Thomas (all second selection) and corner Chris Harris Jr., his first.
The NFL’s All-Star Game will be played Jan. 25 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, at 6 p.m.
The nine selections tie for the second-most in team history. Ten players were picked in 1998, the last season the Broncos won the Super Bowl. Nine were also picked in 1996.
Seven of the nine were drafted or signed by Broncos’ executive and general manager John Elway in the last three years.
