Driver Cooperating With Police After Striking 2 Boys With Car In Northglenn

NORTHGLENN, Colo. (CBS4) - Two boys were hospitalized after being hit by a car while they were walking in Northglenn Tuesday morning, and now police are looking for witnesses.

The boys, 13 and 14, were hit just after 7:30 a.m. near 112th Avenue and Larson Drive. They were taken to area hospitals and are listed in stable condition.

The 24-year-old male driver was on 112th when he hit the two boys as they were crossing the street. The driver, whose name hasn't been released, was taken to the Northglenn Police Department and is cooperating with police.

Witnesses say that both boys appeared to be conscious when ambulances arrived to take them to the hospital.

"One was laying on his back, bloody nose; the other one was laying on his face screaming," witness Jeminie Trujillo said. "It was scary, I didn't know what to expect. I'm glad that they are better than what they could have been."

There is a middle school near the area.

It's not clear if speed was a factor or if the driver will face any charges.
