According to authorities, officers approached a house around 7 p.m. to serve an arrest warrant on fraud and drug charges when a man, police identified as Jose Ornelas-Licano, 40, allegedly fired one shot from a gun then fled in a pickup. No one was hit.

Police say the vehicle crashed near Clearview Avenue and Taft Hill Road shortly after. The man fled on foot.

On Saturday afternoon a woman contacted police after she recognized Ornelas-Licano entering the Family Dollar store located at Prospect and Shields in Fort Collins.

"She notified Fort Collins police and when the officer arrived he saw Ornelas-Licano sitting on a bench outside of the store. The officer was able to take him into custody without any incident," police said in a statement.

Ornelas-Licano didn't have a gun with him when he was arrested.
