"(I'm) a native of Colorado and I've never been, so I thought, 'This is a great opportunity,' " Carolyn Selby said.

Colorado's home this year is again decorated by the American Society of Interior Designers Colorado Chapter.

"Each room has a special theme," Program Manager Micky Adams said.

Adams says this year it's all about Colorado living.

"We go from the mountain theme to the urban theme, ranching theme, so it's all Colorado lifestyles," she said.

Each one is designed to tell a story of a part of Colorado history.

"I am excited about all of them … they are so different in their own realm," Adams said.

This year's annual commemorative holiday ornament is the Cuddy Sark.

"Claude Boettcher was an avid collector of model ships," Adams said.

Ornaments can be ordered online or purchased at the gift shop. Proceeds benefit the restoration and maintaining of the Governor's Mansion.

Tours run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Friday, Dec. 19 and are free to the public.
