Deputies Search For New Suspect After Deaths Of 3 In Home

FEDERAL HEIGHTS, Colo. (CBS4) - Police are searching for a man they describe as dangerous who is suspected in the apparent shooting deaths of three men in a home in unincorporated Adams County.

The three victims, whose names haven't been released, were found dead after a frantic 911 call was made from a woman at 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

The home is located at 21 Cragmore Street just southeast of Federal Heights, near the intersection of Highway 36 and Interstate 25.

Shortly after police found the men dead in the home, officials put out a BOLO ("be on the lookout") alert for a Hispanic man with a sleeve of tattoos driving a black Jeep Wrangler.

On Wednesday afternoon Jefferson County deputies spotted a Jeep matching the description driving the wrong way along Rooney Road in Golden and used a pit maneuver to stop the driver. Deputies believe that driver -- a male -- is connected to the triple homicide and have him in custody.

Neighbors at the home where the crime happened told CBS4 the news of the triple homicide has them feeling uneasy.

"It's a shock," Tracy Sitterud said. "It's something that you hear that this happens all the time but you don't expect it on your street, right down the street from your house. And especially in a very quiet neighborhood where people wave at each other as you drive by. It's nerve-racking."

Sitterud said he had seen the victims around in the neighborhood and they seemed friendly.

Anyone with information about the case that might be helpful to police is asked to call Adams County's crime tip line at 720-322-1313.
