DENVER (CBS4) – Linebacker Von Miller is known for wearing outlandish outfits after Broncos games, but the look he sported on Sunday may have taken the cake.
While the reporters who were pressed around him in the locker room Sunday night couldn’t stop asking about his fox fur hat from Kyrgyzstan, Miller mostly just wanted to answer questions about his team’s third straight win.
Miller had two tackles and sacked Bills quarterback Kyle Orton once in Denver’s 24-17 win over Buffalo Sunday afternoon.
While the temperatures were unseasonably warm in Denver on Sunday (the temperature at kickoff was 63 degrees), Miller apparently felt fur was the fashionable way to go.
Miller said he got the hat, which includes the animal’s feet, in the city of Manas while visiting with U.S. troops. Miller made the trip with other NFL players in early 2013.
“I got it at an Air Force base when I went on a USO tour,” Miller said. “They let me bring it back, so I’m wearing it.”
CBS4’s Vic Lombardi jokingly asked Miller “Did you wear this under your helmet?”
“I wished I could, but nah, I didn’t,” he said with a small smile. “It wasn’t chilly enough.”
Miller said the hat “holds a close spot in his heart” because it reminds him of his visit with the troops.

Miller is having a fantastic season for the Broncos, who currently lead the AFC West by two games. He was named October’s AFC Defensive Player of the Month and has 13 sacks so far.
