Frisco Getting Snow That's Approaching The Record Books

FRISCO, Colo. (CBS4) - Along Interstate 70 Tuesday evening the lanes weren't hanging on to too much snow as the wind ripped across the roadway making visibility very hard.

Officials in Frisco say the town is having snow amounts in November that are approaching the record books.

"We are seeing some drifting snow; we're just staying with it, that's all we can do is battle Mother Nature," Frisco Public Works Director Tim Mack said.

The plows were out in full force Tuesday trying to stay ahead of the storm, which is blowing snow off roofs and covering roads.

"We just have to stay with it and hope we get some sun here soon," Mack said.

It's been the windiest storm this month, but the snow has also really piled high.

"We've had a good November. So far we're getting close to four feet here."

One Frisco parking lot used for snow storage usually takes until New Year's to fill up, but it's close to full now.

"As we haul snow in the core area where we have curb, gutter, sidewalk downtown, we haul it here to the marina area and then we bring loaders and keep bucketing it up to save every inch for the rest of the winter … it looks like it's going to be filled up by the end of November this year."

Mack said if snow continues, it could be a record year. He's just eager to see the sun on Thursday so his crews can continue clearing out much of the town for the holiday weekend.
