DENVER (CBS4) – The early bird may not get the worm during Black Friday shopping, and that means you could stay home and eat turkey.

Best Buy, Walmart and Macy’s are just some of the stores opening on Thanksgiving night. Kmart is opening at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving.

“People spent more money on Cyber Monday then they did on Black Friday. It’s a trend that is going to continue this year,” Kyle James with said. “A lot of stores will offer the same deals on Cyber Monday as they do on Black Friday.”

Last year Americans spent over $1.7 billion on Cyber Monday. Experts predict more will be spent this year., an online coupon tracker, says discounts will be the same on Thanksgiving as they will be on Black Friday. They recommend not to buy winter clothing nor holiday toys on Black Friday, as those will be cheaper later in the year. says Black Friday offers the most discounted prices all year long for certain items – such as Dell-made budget laptops, tablets from Samsung and Microsoft. Apple products have discounts across the board, except the iPhone 6. Off-brand kitchen ware and Xbox games are also available at a discount.

Many people want to take advantage of electronic deals. TVs will be reduced, but an analyst with has a warning.

“I had a Best Buy employee tell me, ‘These TVs are specifically made for Black Friday, and quality is bad so they don’t stock them rest of the year,’ ” the analyst said.

Shoppers who want a higher quality TV should wait until after Christmas — in January or February – to see the deepest discounts.
