Peter Forsberg Gets Dig On Rob Blake At Hall Of Fame Induction

DENVER (CBS4) – Colorado Avalanche greats Rob Blake and Peter Forsberg are the newest members of the Hockey Hall of Fame.

The Avs were well-represented at the induction ceremony Monday night with the likes of former Avs captain and current Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Joe Sakic.

Blake was one of the most talented defensemen to ever wear an Avs sweater. He's one of 25 players to have won the Stanley Cup, an Olympic gold medal and a world championship.

"Peter the Great," whose career was cut short by injury, won two Stanley Cups with the Avs.

Forsberg was introduced by Mats Sundin, a fellow Swede and Hall of Famer.

"It's pretty cool to get it from Sundin, who was kind of my hero there for a while … until I got to run him over one time," Forsberg said, getting a chuckle from the audience. "I was so fortunate to play in the city of Denver and with people who love to win."

Forsberg then had some words for fellow inductee Blake.

"You know, you're a big player, a big leader, and a big (expletive). Thank God I was on your team," he said to a laughing Blake.

Blake and Forsberg became the fifth and sixth Avs players to make the Hockey Hall of Fame.
