A woman says she was walking when a man approached her with a sharp object and demanded her purse Monday at approximately 7:30 a.m. near Taft Hill Road and Elizabeth Street.

The 21-year-old victim was not badly hurt, but suffered an injury during a struggle. It's not clear if the woman was just cut or actually stabbed.

The incident occurred in Rams Crossing West, an area where many students reside, but not located on campus.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 5-foot-7, with a stocky build.

The other eight women attacked all happened between Taft Hill Road and Shields Street, and Prospect and Drake roads. Those women weren't robbed.
