2 Stolen Puppies Found; 11 Others Still Missing

NORTHGLENN, Colo. (CBS4) - Two of nine puppies stolen from a Northglenn pet store have been found.

A family discovered the pair of puggles -- a cross between a beagle and a pug -- in a bush in their front yard near Wadsworth Boulevard and Yale Avenue and took them to the Foothills Animal Shelter.

Four other English bulldog puppies, valued at $11,000, were swiped from a Pet Ranch store in Thornton earlier this week. Seven puggles are still missing. Police believe the thefts might be related.

"I want to thank the people that found the two and turned them in. The other puppies that are out there, I just hope that everybody who lives around Wadsworth and Yale: Check your yard, check your bushes, check everywhere. Maybe we can find some more," Sandy McDonald of Puppies 'N' Stuff said.

The thieves were spotted on surveillance cameras, leaving with the dogs in the middle of the night.

"I was really happy that they found them, but then it makes me almost more worried knowing how they found them -- that the others are out there somewhere and didn't get found," McDonald said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Northglenn or Thornton police.
